TYPE: Australian Pinus Radiata SIZE: 120 cm to 3 metres AGE: 2 to 5 years   description Each tree has been hand planted as a seedling and farmed for 2 to 3 years before being big enough to be a Christmas tree. Three to four times a year the trees are pruned to create the perfect conical shape and to ensure that they are thick, fully shaped trees. The cut tree will emit a pine fragrance for about 10 days from the time it is cut down.   selection You will be given a measuring stick and armed with a saw and then the fun begins. Wander through the Christmas tree forest to choose your own tree. When you have found the perfect tree, you can check the price by using the measuring stick which indicates not only height but also the price. Then cut the tree as close to the ground as possible. There is help available, if required, for loading the trees into trailers or onto cars and roof-racks.

  care and longevity

4 - 6 weeks
Trees should be cared for as if they were giant flowers. Planted carefully in a suitable tub with gravel and rocks the tree should stand straight and be securely held in place. Check the water level everyday, they can consume up to 3 litres of water per day, and cared for properly, they can last up to 6 weeks before beginning to fade. Keep out of sunny positions or breezeways.
